Women Empowerment Dhenkanal and Sundargarh

In the year 2004 & 2005 SSS had an Animation Program in 9 villages of Subdega Block in Sundargarh District. The Animators organized women into Self Help Groups. From 2005, spread our activity to 4 Gram Panchayats covering 68 villages / hamlets and formed 224 SHGs. Taking all these SHGs together, 4 Self Help Cooperatives were promoted and registered in 2007. The women are skilled in public speaking, in their meetings they take up the Social & Economic issues of the villages. They are involved in decision making process and plan different activities for their development. They have taken up different Income Generation Activities to become self-reliant.
